Students are presented with opportunities to discover and explore the educational disciplines of art, science, language, music, dramatic play and the natural environment. Each day children are invited to engage in reading, sensory exploration, dramatic play, block building, art, crafts, games, puzzles, writing and outdoor activities including running, self-propelled toys, sand, water, digging and gardening.
Planned and calendar activities provide a framework for offering ideas, direction and identifying topics of high interest to the children. A typical week includes teacher led building, science, cooking and art/craft projects. We enjoy celebrating all of the seasons and the celebrations that take place within our community throughout the year. Our preschool families gather twice a year for a Holiday Breakfast and a Summer BBQ Luncheon.
Parents of registered students are always welcome at the preschool. We encourage parents to lead projects and/or share their hobbies and interests with the children.
The Teachers Role is to observe, listen and answer children’s questions. Based on this information, the teacher acts as a facilitator by providing opportunities for children to pursue topics of interest. Activities are documented in photographs and the children’s own words.
